Question:
How do I relieve and protect against swelling as a beginning kickboxer?
I was told that some swelling will be normal when you kick hard, especially when you start. My left foot, no problem. My right, my power leg, is suffering from incredible swelling down to my foot.
I lose the ability to even maintain balance on my right leg because the swelling is so great it inhibits my movement.

I'm not worried about the pain, it is the swelling that is impeding my performance and training.

ibuprofen helps the swelling go down and elevate it above your heart so that the blood wouldn't go to your foot as much
icing it might help a bit too
