Knee dislocation and cartilage problems?!

Question:

Knee dislocation and cartilage problems?

Looking to hear from anyone with advice on muscle workouts or lifestyle changes to lesson knee pain/degeneration following patellar dislocation and athroscopy to clean cartilage up. I am a former professional athlete-the medical specialists at my level just sort of put you out to pasture like an old horse. I'm just trying to maintain an active lifestyle , not play sport anymore and halt further joint problems. So any advice or thoughts welcome.

Answers:

You don't want to put any heavy weight on the knee. It's best not to do running or lifting weights. The best exercise is swimming. This does not put any stress on the joints and yet it exercises every part of the body.

Unfortunately our lives change dramatically after a health problem. You just have to find new ways to stay active that do not cause you further problems.
