Osgood Shclatter but wanna play basketball?

My Osgood Schlatter is pretty mild and there is no swelling at all. There are mild cracks and once i rest them for about an hour, they're pretty smooth. I have a REP team tryout for basketball this coming September. Should I think about joining or dismiss the thought. Ive been wanting to join and Ive had numerous nominations and won MVP once. I play point guard and run alot....

You will be fine. Make sure you put an ice bag directly on the skin of the area that hurts for 15 minute after every time you play basketball. Working on the strength of the other muscles in your legs beside the quad also helps to decrease pain with Osgood Schlatters. I would recommend you go see a physical therapist to help you with the strengthening.
