How can you heal a sunburn?!
Question:
How can you heal a sunburn?
I have a sunburn on my shoulders and it hurts alot, how can I help the pain and make it go away faster?
Answers:
moisturise your skin and seal that moisture in! since this happened a little while ago - iassume at least by the time you read this, use aloe and paraffin wax (or a product containing little else) the paraffin will simulate the protective oils the skin normally produces. this will rehydrate, seal and protect your skin while it heals. cover with clingwrap if you want to wear clothes - this will stop the paraffin rubbing off. reapply every 4-6 hours at least until healed
this is prolly too late but i have to get the word out about how doctors that specialise in burn treatment actually recommend you treat burns.
cold water only!!!!!!!! 20 minutes worth -no ice - no oils - no hot water - (further damage)
nothing organic (milk, butter or anything) (infection risk)
nothing acidic (vinegar, lemons, tomatoes etc) (damage)
no sunscreen - doesn't help thus it makes it worse - many potential irritants
no creams either most of the time water is better anyway plus if you have opened the container you shouldn't use it again (infection risk)
blisters equals partial thickness burn (second degree) which means you should prolly see a burns doctor (as for a consult/referral)
if there are blisters in the burn - cold water 20 minutes then cover with cling wrap (this will simulate a protective layer of skin and it is very clean off the roll) then off to hospital with a burns unit! you might not need to be admitted but someone will come see you! (should)
