Question:

Cut Tendon in Index Finger? Tons of Pain!! No Answers by M.D. HELP!!?

Two weeks ago I crushed my left hand in between the door of a truck and a wall while it was in reverse. I didn't break any bones but I had cuts on my arm hands and one across my lower index finger on my outside lower nuckle. I was referred to a Orthopidic M.D. He said partually severed Tendon. He did not give me an MRI or anything in fact he really didn't look at it. Now I have severe pain and burning all the time and have had to go to ER's because he doesn't believe that it could still hurt. I can barely move my finger and it is very tight feeling when I do. Any Ideas??

Answers:

You need to be seen by an orthopedic surgeon who is a hand specialist. "Partially severed" can imply a lot of things, notably that it will be become a complete tear. Then you could lose your ability to flex and extend your finger.

If work related be sure to go thru proper worker's comp channels.
