Why is my arm disconfigured and have constant pain YEARS after it was broken?!

Question:

Why is my arm disconfigured and have constant pain YEARS after it was broken?

I was probably around 5 when I broke it (maybe younger) and I'm 17 now.

Anyway, my arm ALWAYS has a constant pain.

I broke it just below my elbow, just so you know. It was also my left arm

I can lay my right hand flat (my palm up), but I can't do that with my left arm. It simply will not turn. It feels as if it's somehow twisted in some odd way.

And to add to the problem, I just tested today with some dumbbells... In my right hand I was holding a 15lb. dumbbell with my palm flat, and I felt a pain in my elbow, and no pain when I held it sideways.

However, when I did that with my left hand... I felt a pain holding it sideways. I don't know if this really means anything, but it seems as if me holding my left hand sideways is exactly like laying my right hand (or any other good arm) flat.

So did a bone twist? I've gone to doctors but they didn't stay on he subject long... My dad is going to get an appointment with one soon though... But in the meantime, do you know what is wrong?

Answers:

It sounds as if it set wrong way back then and bone growth over the years has further distorted it.

It needs to be x-rayed. I am glad your dad is taking you to the Doctor's.

When you break a bone where you did at the age you did it set's well initially but can contort as it heals.

You may even have some nerve damage.
The Doc is the one who can help you.
But I can tell you that this is not normal. But should be easy enough to correct fingers crossed.

Good luck.
