Why do I feel this weird sensation in my neck?!
Question:
Why do I feel this weird sensation in my neck?
Last Saturday, I woke up with a horrible pain in my neck. Mainly on my left side. I couldn't move my neck at all. So I applied Icy hot on the area that hurts, took some ibuprofens, and relaxed my neck. Now, 5 days later, the left side of my neck aches when I turn it to the left all the way but its not as painful as it was 5 days ago. It's actually a lot better. I also feel a very weird sensation in my neck. I can't even sleep at night because of this sensation. I am the type that can't stand to be touched on my neck but this feeling is way more uncomfortable. I also notice that I could almost feel a pulse on my neck and that is very uncomfortable. I feel weird and ticklish. What could be going on?
Answers:
Go see your doctor. A number of diseases manifest themselves in the form of neck pain - meningitis is a biggie. Not saying you have that, but it's better to see a doctor for anything that lasts longer than a few days. The sensation you mention sounds more like a muscle or nerve cramp, but a doctor can better diagnose your problem.
