Answers:

Jaw Surgery has a unique healing process from most other surgeries, as not only are there physical restrictions but there are also dietary restrictions. It is wise that you do some research on the dietary restrictions that you will have and find meal options that will suit your tastes and comfort. You will be advised not to eat foods with sharp edges, or dairy foods which can cause infections while your mouth is healing. You will also experience difficulty chewing solid foods in the first few days after surgery. Many people choose to consume soft food products and liquids, and as this is not most peoples way of everyday eating.

You may also begin brushing your teeth the day after the surgery, however you must be cautious to avoid the tooth brush interacting with the incision line. It is recommended to use mouth wash to keep the sutures clean.
