What is a good get well gift for him?!

What is a good get well gift for him?
My good friend's son just had to go through back surgery, and I want to get him a get well present. He's really tired of video games and movies, and I don't think he's the biggest Suduko or puzzle fan :) Any suggestions on what to get him?

After wards when I had my back surgeries (I've had 4 for a Spinal Cord Stimulator (SCS) implant) I always thought that when people brought by some cookies or some type of treat and a card it was enough, and I felt so happy. Even just a card made me feel better because I knew that there was people who cared. Most of the time I didn't even feel well enough to do much so I slept because I was so worn out from 5 hours of surgery, and then having the physical therapist come and get my out of my hospital bed and having me walk around that I was exhausted for weeks after surgery. Some other things that were nice were some nice lotions, and things so my mom often times rubbed my feet with it or body spray was always nice because I couldn't shower so it made me feel a little cleaner (besides the sponge baths), you could ask his mom if he likes any type of book that you could get him, and maybe ask his mom if there is any ideas that she has.
