What can I do to help my broken leg heal faster?!

What can I do to help my broken leg heal faster?

I broke my leg on May 31st, have a trimalleolar fracture of the right leg. I didn't have surgery, the doctor did a closed reduction. I'm stuck in bed all summer as it is non-weight bearing. I can hop on one leg to get around a little with a walker and have a wheelchair to get to the kitchen so I can get some food. What kinds of food are good to help bones heal, supplements, ect?
I could use some help because my doctors aren't very helpful in the nutrition advice.
I am taking 600 mgs calcium with vit.D, but that's all.


Answers:

All I can tell you is to avoid Spinach. There's something in it that prevents healing of broken limbs. Other than that be patient. It will take time to heal, do your best to enjoy your time off from whatever you're doing. If you think of it as a vacation instead of a problem then you'll feel better and that feeling may help the time seem to go faster.
