Day 6 after tonsillectomy and throat stings?!

Question: Day 6 after tonsillectomy and throat stings?
Throughout this whole process my throat has hurt, all the time, the meds soothe it, but that pain is still there. Today though I was trying to eat some soft lasagna, and a few seconds after swallowing my throat just stung. When I drink water the sting gets so much worse, it hurts but it isnt like the regular pain, its like when you drink cold water after brushing your teeth. I don't know what caused this, did the scab fall off?
I ate some lasagna before too and this didn't happen.
I know it is too soon to be eating this.

Answers:

Gargle with warm salt water 2 to 4 times daily, first thing in the morning, after meals & bedtime. It will cleanse the area, remove any food debris that could get stuck, reduce pain and promote healing. If you continue to have difficulty for more than 2 weeks after surgery or have worsening pain/swelling & fever, you should consult your doctor

health care training, personal experience, children has tonsillectomies

It isn't too soon to eat lasagna. The more you eat the faster it is going to stop stinging.
