Adams apple hurts when I turn my head?!

Adams apple hurts when I turn my head?
Hurts mostly when turning my head to the left and sometimes when I swallow. The glands in my neck are not swollen. Although I did have a really bad clogged nose the other night and while sleeping I was breathing through my mouth and woke up with completly dried out mouth and throat. But the pain is not in my throat, its like the muscles in my neck are strained. Anyone experienced this before?
