Pain near Belly Button...?!

Question: Pain near Belly Button...?
Since a few hours ago, I've had this none stop stabbing pain around an inch below my belly button.

I did start my period today, but I've never had this before with any other cramps. I kiiinda feel like I need to pee too. Could this be the start of a water infection? I don't have time to see a Dr until Monday at least, so any suggestions?

Answers:

I have a couple ideas....

A Gastroenteritis virus - stomach bug - the pain can be caused by a gas build-up on an inflamed bowel caused by the virus often accompanied by a mild fever, sore throat or inflamed glands.

Could be endometriosis.

If you are an anxious person, it could be IBS.

It could also be Crohn's or Celiac Spru or even an Umbilical hernia.

These are just guesses.. Best to consult a doctor.

In nursing school.

To me this sounds like symptoms of urinary tract infection. Does it burn or feel unusual when you go to the bathroom? Often these strike women during their period because of bacteria. (maybe you don't wipe as clean as well as usual) the need to Pee a lot also sounds like the symptoms associated with this. Drink LOTS of water and see the Dr. asap. Hope this was helpful.
