Does Warm Milk Really Put You To Sleep?!
Question:
Does Warm Milk Really Put You To Sleep?
I was just thinking of new remedies to help me sleep and was just wondering if warm milk really helps you get some shut eye.
Answers:
Warm milk has a very small amount of melatonin, the hormone that makes you drowsy and sleeply. Unfortunately there is not enough to actually put you asleep.
People use warm milk as a physiological remedy to insomnia. If you drink it and believe it will help put you asleep, it probably will. The milk will take your mind off the frustration of trying to actually fall asleep to waiting for the 'effects' of the warm milk to put you to sleep, thus relaxing your mind and making it easier to fall asleep.
