Should i go back after my last thearpy session!?!

Question: Should i go back after my last thearpy session!?
Okay after my last session I left angry because we got into this disscussion about sexual abuse :/ I seen things when I was younger and had stuff happen to me...but anyways we were discussing my weight issues and she flat out told me the reason I let myself get big was because I didn't want to be touched! "SAY WHAT" I was completly shocked that wasn't even the case I tried telling her that but she just kept up with the topic and wouldn't listen to me about it! I told her I was fat because of my thyroid disease and eating to much when I was younger! Should I go back and give it another shot or leave and find a more understanding less asumeing thearpist?

Answers:

You should give the therapist another chance and listen to what she has to say. It is well known that people who have been molested or witnessed abuse often let themselves go so as not to attract anyones attention. Others turn to drugs, strippers, prostitutes, violent, etc. Others adjust and are able to move on and live relatively "normal lives".

If you don't feel comfortable with her after the next visit then definitely seek someone else. It's important that you are able to communicate openly with your therapist. However, know that a good therapist will be honest with you and tell you things you may not want to hear.

Good luck!

If your therapist has done this before, I'd say that you should go see another therapist. If this is the first time, and this therapist is a good therapist, then give him/her another chance and go back.

(Although, I'd go see another therapist, as some ex-friends started doing that to me, and wouldn't stop, and I never thought they would.)
