TMJ issues?!

Question:

TMJ issues?

have TMJ and i was wanting to know if i can recover or not?
Question Details: I have TMJ and gingivitus, but my symptoms are different from lots of people here. All i get it sore teeth and pain in the jaw joint. Even my doctor looked at the xrays and said my jaw was fine other than the teeth are shifted to the right a bit.
I can eat soft foods like mexi fries and i did chow down a cheese burger small bite by small bite. I also get headaches. Do you think i will recover from this eventually, because a website i found said only 12 percent of TMJ people will have this long term.

Also i have teeth pain and tightness on my bottom front teeth, am i going to be losing some teeth or is this just from my gingivitus?

Answers:

I suffer from TMJ too. The best thing to do is to get a splint (mouthguard) to wear during the night. Your regular doctor can make one. They're made of a special kind of plastic.
If you don't protect your teeth with the splint, then they may crack if your clenching your teeth at night.
Good luck and feel better soon!
