How to identify alcohol poisoning?!

Question:

How to identify alcohol poisoning?

This is a strange senario for me and typing is very hard right now, so please forgive any typos. I weigh about 180 lbs and I had about 11 shots of liquor in about the last hour and a half or so (If his makes me a "light weight", know that I just havnt been able to drink at all for the last 6 months). I have been in the bahroomk f or about 30 minutes throing up and I feel worse than I have ever felt before. I was getting sweats not too long ago but they seem to have subsuded for the time being. I have thrown up wuite a few times and I'm hesitant to go to sleep right now for fear that I wil throw up and die from chocking on my own vomit (a complex that I always have when I drink).

I cAN'T call 911 because I can't deal with another underage drinkling charge right now and this is my last resort for thw time being. Any advise that is NOT CALLING AN AMBLUANCE is greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Answers:

for the record-the ambulance company can't have you brought up on underage drinking charges and neither can the hospital. they have to treat you (by law) and release you afterwards. trust me-the er staff doesn't have time to call the police everytime an underage drinker or drug user walks through their doors.

drink water but start off slowly. take small frequent sips ( one sip every 10 mins for the next hour). if you are able to keep the water down w/out throwing up, slowly start to increase your fluid intake.

if you have it and once you have stopped throwing up-drink gatorade or pedialyte (found at any local drugstore-ask a cashier if u can't find it). pedialyte is an elecrolyte restoring fluid that is given to children who have been vomiting or have diarrhea. it works well for adults too. it comes in many different flavors.

the gatorade will help restore fluid and some electrolytes as well. avoid soda or juice-these have high sugar content and can dehydrate you quicker.

call 911 or have someone drive you to the er if

-you haven't stopped vomiting in the next 1-2 hours or are unable to keep even water down

-you start to feel dizzy or lightheaded (feel like you're going to pass out or faint-not being dizzy from drunkeness)

-feelings of confusion, disorientation (not knowing where you are, what day it is,etc)

-severe abdominal pain

don't worry about trying to eat anything at this point-your stomach will just throw it up. focus on getting water into you at a slow, steady pace.

with alcohol poisoning-timing is everything so if you aren't starting to feel better w/in that 2 hour window-please go to the hospital. they'll need to give you charcoal to absorb the alcohol and get it out of your system, in addition to providing you i.v fluids to restore you electrolyte balance.

dehydration can be fatal and comes on very quickly-so please do what is best for you and don't worry about what the underage drinking.
