Ankle trouble?!

Ankle trouble?
the back of my ankle hurts. the pain on the tack of the foot about an inch and a half up from the sole of my foot. it's on the bone. (not the muscle that's on the back of the foot) or at least i think it's the bone (i know it's on something hard). it's been like this for around 3 hours, so it's not like i just stepped on it wrong and the pain will be gone in a couple minutes. i know this is a bad description, but it's the best i can think of. can anybody tell me what's wrong?

I think that you might have pulled your achilles tendon. OUCH! that is so painful!!!!!!!!! It probably isn't tendonitis because the pain wasn't gradual.
