Question:

About the specialty floors in a garden variety general hospital, i.e. surgery, sub-departments, etc?

just wondering what the typical things you would find and what floor they would be on...for example, would the radiology be on the same floor as the pathology lab? i know it would make more sense to actually head to an actual hospital and either ask or check it out...but as long as im on here, any answers would be cool. and i guess the same question for a more specialized, or private facility, like Mayo or Kelsey-Sebold.

Answers:

It varies, but generally surgical ICU's are convenient to the OR, and ER. Step down floors are conveniently located close to the ICU's. Radiology services will be grouped together on one floor or one department. The morgue is always in the basement and the patho lab is usually there also.
You'll have to check out your own local hospitals to find out what they do.
