How high do you have to fall to break an arm? (I'm writing a story haha..)?!

Question: How high do you have to fall to break an arm? (I'm writing a story haha..)?
The story has a spy-guy who breaks his arm after falling out of a hotel balcony and onto the ground, but he gets up and runs away afterwards

Does anyone know? I think more than four stories will kill you- three if you don't land so nicely.

IF YOU DON'T KNOW can you just guess? Thanks!

Answers:

about breaking the arm, a story or two will suffice assuming its onto concrete. into bushes/grass, shoot for 4 stories i think. and as to the death factor, EMS protocol says that any fall twice your height has to potential to cause serious spinal injury.

Disclaimer: As an EMT do not condone trying this in any way. anyone considering killing or hurting themselves can message me at anytime. do not try it please.

It's not the height you fall from but the angle of impact on the arm is what breaks it.

For examples, legs, not arms, I know, are meant to support the weight of your body and therefore don't break under your weight. However when hit from the side, they may fracture. Same with an arm, if its hit at an angle then it could fracture. So depends on how the person is falling.

Depends on how you land, if you use your arms and legs, you could get hurt badly. Heck even few people have lived from falling out of a plane, their parachute failed and all they had was one broken leg. So it could be as little as jumping out a first story window to falling off a 4 story building. It is not the actual height but the health and condition the person is in. In mind and body.

if the was to trip on the sidewalk, he could break his arm. so, one story falling out could break his arm.

common sense. duh. it doesnt take a rocket scientist to realize that people that have broken arms dont typically get them from jumping/falling from a 3 story window. most get them from fights, clumsyness, etc. my idea get out of the house more often and experience this thing we call, LIFE!
