I am 26 weeks pregnant, I have a severe pain in the lower left of my back. I saw!

Question:

I am 26 weeks pregnant, I have a severe pain in the lower left of my back. I saw a Chiropractor and he says?

I could have fractured a rib or possibly broken it, but he doesnt know for sure cause they cant do x-rays. He did a little massage on the area and used this little click thing on my back and said just to call in a few days if I don't feel better. My questions is, this is hurting really bad. Should I just call my regular Dr? I mean is a regular dr even going to be able to do anything for me? I can't take pain medicine, cant have x-rays. Is there anything that they can do for me?

Answers:

First of all there is NO way its sciatic if the pain is in your back. Sciatica is inflammation of the sciatic nerve in your buttocks that runs down the back of your thigh.
I would get in touch with your OB/GYN b/c that doc knows your pregnancy best, and is probably used to patients complaining about back pain with pregnancy. Your OBGYN probably knows either a physical therapist or massage therapist that is knowledgeable working with pregnant women in helping with back pain.
