What's going on?!

Question:

What's going on?

for the past few days my left arm keeps getting a throbbing pain above my elbow, and my pinky and ring finger go numb. It will stay like this for hours at a time. what's the deal? i'm a graphic designer and always typing..is that contributing?

Answers:

Your symptoms sound a lot like cubital tunnel syndrome. Basically what that is inflammation of your ulnar nerve as it passes through your elbow (its what most people know as the funny bone). Most likely you are causing the irritation by leaning on your elbow too much. Try to not lean on your elbow while working. Also you can help decrease the inflammation by taking an over the counter anti inflammatory (Advil, Aleve, etc) as directed on the bottle, and placing an ice bag over the back/inside portion of your elbow.
