Dead wasp sting???????????!

Question: Dead wasp sting???????????
I saw a wasp in the bathroom and I quickly killed it using my slippers and it was definitely dead, so I got some tissues and picked it up to throw it in the bin, and then I felt a sting - I think I must have touched the stinger by accident. I have heard about how it is supposed to be agony and hurt for days... but it honestly only felt like a slight tingling for 5 minutes and then I just bit my thumb (sting was on thumb) all over it for a minute, probably dispersing the venom and instantly it was gone! To me, that so called "sting" was less painful than a paper cut or a splinter.... Am I some weird super resistant anomaly of the human race or was it just that dead wasp stings do not hurt as much???

Answers:

No, you're not, wasp stings aren't really that painful when the wasp is dead. They're not too bad when the wasp is alive, depends on your pain threshold.

depends. i was stung by a live paper wasp. i didn,t realize what had happened for a few seconds. it did hurt a little, and i had a red dot. my wife got tagged on the face by the same type of insect. it stung a lot. i was tagged on the left arm. my sis in law sat on a yellow jacket. use your imagination and guess where she was stung. it really. really burned! she was wearing very short shorts. in my experience; yellow jackets are more painful, as they actually bite.

No, u r not but i would say to put vinegar over the sting to neutralise the alkali. otherwise itll be VERY sore in the morning and u may feel whoozy

of course you are
