Help for a sore tailbone?!

Question:

Help for a sore tailbone?

I've been sitting more at my desk at work for the past few weeks, so my tailbone has been sore. By the end of the day it's painful to sit. Any advice to help eleviate the pain?

Many thanks!

Answers:

Can you get an empty box and put it under your desk to elevate your feet and take the pressure off your tailbone? That's what I do because I have disc damage and it helps tremendously. Also, if you can, get up every hour and walk around your desk or to the restroom or just down the hall. Walking for a couple of min helps loosen your joints as well as your spine. Sometimes it helps if your chair isn't ergonomic to put a small pillow behind your back. Whatever you can accomplish to reduce the amount of pressure on your tailbone should help with what you're experiencing. And anti-inflammatories can be helpful as well, but don't depend on them long-term except under the care of a physician. They can irritate your stomach and some will even harm your liver.
