Answers:

Try reading The Nicotine Trick by Neil Casey. You have to understand that smoking does absolutely nothing for you apart from relieving the cravings that it itself causes. The actual physical withdrawal symptoms are very slight, the rest of the pain and depression caused is all in your head. If you can make this mental shift, quitting becomes very easy.

It worked for me. My cravings stopped in a couple of days, I've gone over a year now and have never looked back. As far as weight gain goes, sounds like you're getting plenty of exercise already. Without smoking you're only going to get better at it and enjoy it more.

The only thing you're giving up are years of drug induced misery.
