If you're not hurting, I would seriously discourage going into surgery for this.
Anytime you get surgery on your joints there is going to be scar tissue to deal with, and some nerves get a little messed with, and you will be in pain from that.
You get surgery on your joints when you and the orthopedic surgeon know that the pain or side effects from the surgery will still be much better than the pain your in now.
