Spider Bite, Sting, Boil, or What?!

Question:

Spider Bite, Sting, Boil, or What?

About 4 days ago, a place came up on the lower part of my belly. It was swollen, and the skin was raised in a circular place. Now, 2 days ago, it began to hurt very badly, but it was just red, no black, or any other signs of rotting skin. About this time, blood starting gushing out with a milky puss liquid. It has been 2 almost 3 days, and now it's not as painful, but there is clearly ONE hole, my skin is no longer raised, but blood/puss continues to gush out, especially when I sit down. I am very worried, because I'm not sure what it is. If anyone can share experiences, or tell me what you think it might be, please help me!!!!!! Thanks So Much!!!!

To me this sounds like a boil. I get them in places that are irritated by my clothing from time to time. I don't have the insurance offered by my job and deal with them myself as well. It will leave a scar more than likely but it sounds like you have already gotten thru the worst of it. It is usually caused by staph that normally resides on your skin. Is the place where the button of jeans sits? If so then this is probally a boil. The basic concept is to empty it. It will have have a head that is more solid than just the milky pus. Once the head comes out then apply antibiotic ointment and a dressing. ALWAYS wash your hands thouroghly after handling anything that touches it. Wash your clothes and washcloths in clorox. Only use your towel once because it may allow the infection to spread. Oral antibiotics would help but when you can't afford it-Oh well. Keep it clean and dry. Use rubbing alcohol on the skin around it to kill the microbes. The hole is still there because the head is- once the head comes out it will begin to heal itself. Try "popping" it by getting below the knot itself and pushing upwards. Do not sqeeze it from the sides because it will push the puss outward and into more tissue. it will burn but this works for me. I have had 3 in the last 2 years. Witch hazel soaked into a cotton ball will help to relieve the sting that accompanies boils. Use a bandaid to hold the cotton ball on it.

Hope I could help. This seems to be a little unorganized but I was typing as I remembered things. A doctor would lance it (cut it open) to drain it and put you on antibiotics. If you can call a few doctors offices and tell them your situation--ask for samples of an antibiotic. Thes should be free and alot of doctors would be willing to help. All they can say is no. And if they do try somewhere else.
