Question: I've burnt my wrist on hot metal and run it under the cold but it's still swelling and blistering?
I boiled my kettle which is made of metal on the outside and my inner wrist touched it as I was replacing it to it's base. I immediately run it under the cold tap for a few minutes but it is very red and swollen and looks like it is going to blister. Is there anything else I can do to prevent this? It happened about half an hour ago

Answers:

Unfortunately not, no matter how quickly you may have cooled it off, bad burns will swell and blister. The best thing you can do is apply neosporin or some other form of triple antibiotic and wrap in in gauze to keep it clean and safe from infection. Depending how bad it is I'd clean it daily with saline solution, reapply triple antibiotic and dressing until it's healed.

Get some cold milk and mix it with water and keep your hand in that until your hand gets cooler, this is what i always do and it always works:)

Could you please answer my question anyone?:)
