Costochondritis???!

Costochondritis???

I have suffered with chest pain and swelling for over a year now. At first my family doctor thought I had a blood clot in my chest so he stuck me in the hospital for 4 days and ran all kinds of test. Pretty much every test came back normal, so he blamed my heart attack pain and the swelling of my rib that you could visually see on anzioty problems. Well after a while the pain lowered but my rib was still sticking out we called it a day and i went about my life. Here recently the pain is back and more than ever. I went to 1 dr. appointment and 2 different ER's in a total of 4 day's because I really thought I was dying. The doctor I seen in the last ER said that I was suffering from Costochondritis. He gave me names of a couple DR's, pain meds, and told me I needed to follow up with my family dr. in 3-5 days. i did and she was of NO HELP AT ALL!!! so therefore i really need some advice on what to do and what kind of a DR. i should try to get in with. Thank You!

My mother has threatened to take me to a bigger hospital that has more technology. I had a really bad pain spell tonight. It was almost unbearable! I have went to a chiropracter before they caused more pain than I was having at the time. I know all about costochondritis and tietze syndrom and im not sure really if that is what i have or not. some of my symptoms are a lot different such as I have battled this for a year or over with it not getting better. Im at the end. I have no idea what i should do. someone help me! do you think i should go to a bigger hospital with better doctors and technology or not????

Costochondritis is a syndrome of chest wall pain that is due to inflammation of the cartilage and bones in the chest wall. Also called Tietze's Syndrome, costochondritis occurs when there is inflammation at the junction of the rib bone and breastbone (sternum). At this junction, there is cartilage joining these bones. This cartilage can become irritated and inflamed. Depending on the extent of the inflammation, this condition can be quite painful. Would you think a bone Doctor. I'm not sure of the name exactly but perhaps someone who also deals with arthiritis etc. It's bones are cartilidge which are cuasing the problem so it seems similar.
