How should I care for a severly sunburned ear?!
Question:
How should I care for a severly sunburned ear?
This weekend, I had to spend most of both days out in the sun. I was aware enough to lather most of my exposed skin in sunscreen, however, I neglected to cover 1 ear which bore the brunt of the sun.
This morning, the top of my ear was extremely sensative (while showering and then dressing). Later this morning, I realized some skin was pealing on the top of my ear. It seemed too soon after the burn for a normal peel, so after looking in the mirror, I see a strip of the top of my ear looks raw, like an open sore.
What is the best way to treat this? Is there a salve or a cream I can buy over-the-counter at a drug store? Should I let it heal naturally? Do they make bandages or guaze that is designed to fit over the ear in a less akward manner than a normal bandaid would? When I shower tomorrow, should I take any special precautions?
I don't think my ear hurts, it's just sensative to the touch.
Thank you for your help and input!

I am wary about using aloe with lidocaine because this looks like an open wound. Should I consider using aloe?

silverdene isn't the best thing. cover with paraffin wax every 4-6 hours this is best!
