Why do i have sore tender wrists after working out with weights and doing press !

Question:

Why do i have sore tender wrists after working out with weights and doing press ups?

My weights are only 2lb each, so Im not over-exerting myself!!

Even if I only use them for 5mins, the next day my wrists hurt so much.

Again, the same problem after doing press ups, even if I only do as few as 10??

Any ideas please?

Answers:

It is just from the pressure on your wrists, I get the same thing, it will lessen as you work out consistently. You can try wrist wraps (you can get them at a sports shop), but the best thing for me is to stretch my forarms very well before and during excercise. Put your arm out in front of you with palm up, pull your fingers down and back toward your body (so that the force is in the same direction as when you hold a weight), hold for 20 seconds and repeat on the other arm. Although this is a forarm stretch it also stretches the tendons in your wrists, it helps me somewhat.
