Is vitamin E lotion as good as the oil?

I fell on Saturday Night and got a beautiful scrap on my elbow, I want to treat it and have been using oil, but its messy. Is the Lotion just as good or should I stick with oil?

I think there's oil in the lotion? it's just less concentrated. i would stick with good ol' neosporin. they have these neat scar solution adhesive strips that work really well, especially on new scars.
