Which is the best wrist blood pressure monitor?!

Question: Which is the best wrist blood pressure monitor?
I am a CNA and why I am asking is because the facility I am so lucky to be working at has the machine arm pressure cuff monitor. Having to take the residents blood pressure can be somewhat difficult. Either the cuff hurts their arm, the resident's arms are contracted or trying to put the cuff on a resident who is sleeping so peacefully and bugging them for their arm seems unnecessary.

Your input is appreciated...

Answers:

The reason your facility uses arm BP cuffs is that they are the most accurate. Wrist cuffs aren't as accurate.I know using the arm cuff is a pain but it is best. Pts. should be used to getting their pressures checked. Sounds like you probably work in some type of long term care facility (nursing home). You also might be working the night shift. I advise my CNA's to take blood pressures when they do their first rounds when they get to work. That way if you work 11-7 you get it checked early and the patient might get more sleep.

It does not really matter but, I have heard the left arm if you can. Good Luck.
