Is it ok to take off a splint to take a shower?!

Is it ok to take off a splint to take a shower?
I hurt my ankle the other day and when I went to the doctor they gave me a splint. Well its not hurting terribly bad unless I try to move it and I was wondering if it would be ok if I took it off to shower?

yea as long as the doctor did'nt say not to and it doesnt hurt to much without it, and anyway its good to let the injured area breathe once in a while, but if you cant take it off put it in a bag and when you can purchase a cast cover for the shower, and also put a chair in the shower and sit so you dont put weight on the injured area, hope it feels better
