When I stand up after sleeping, I get really dizzy and can't see?!

Question: When I stand up after sleeping, I get really dizzy and can't see?
It happens on and off, but usually, the longer I sleep, the worse it is when I wake up. I wake up, and a few seconds after I stand up, I get really dizzy and my eyesight is momentarily gone. Not exactly gone, more like everything is gray and blurred, like I can faintly see the bathroom mirror but can't make out my face or anything. And I sway a little as I stand and wait for it to pass. I don't think that's normal, but is it something worth going to the doctor for? I've had the dizziness most my life and figured it was because I got up too quickly after waking, but recently it occured to me that I might need to check it out. Any thoughts?

It could be so many things that you should see a Dr. But a little something to think about: My daughter had to have lab work done at 9 in the morning. She went to bed at 10 and woke up at 8:30. We rushed to the lab but they could not draw her blood. Her Dr. said that most of us dehydrate in our sleep. That could be your problem. Drink water before bed and set alarm to wake up during the night. Put a bottle of water by your bed and drink when alarm goes off. Good Luck

It's usually just the blood rush you have after standing up. So it's normal. But if you are concerned go to a doctor.
