I have a pain in my arm?

im a dancer and im learning some gymnastics. while doing a back walk over i fell and landed on my arm. it hurt really badly. but i could still move it and do my training on it. when ever i do a trick it starts hurting again how do i deal with the pain?

Answers:

Hey! i'm a gymnast (compete in the USAG (united states of america gymnastics association) and injuries are my middle, first, and last name.

if you can still train on it, I'd think that it is only, at most, a sprain, muscle pull, and because you are training, I highly doubt a muscle tear. You could have even triggered some tendonitus (inflammation of the tendon). I get pulls all the time, and I suggest taking motrin or aleve before practice, and also putting on something like Icy Hot or Arbonne (muscle cremes) to relax pain. If you think that you might have pulled the muscle, you can try taping the muscle onto the bone with gymnastic tape. If it becomes REALLY bad, go see if your doctor can give you Flexoril (a type of muscle relaxer) if not, go get it checked out. My friend Aly just broke her growth plate, so be careful!
