Question:

PLEASE HELP!! Real nail torn from nail bed by acrylic nail injury...?

I was putting my cousin in her car seat today and I went to shove my hand under her bum to lift her up and my acrylic pinky nail must have bent really far back. It hurt immediately and began to bleed around the edges. I can lift up on the nail tip a bit and I think some if not all of my real nail was ripped from the nailbed and is attached to the fake nail. The fake nail is still attached and I was wondering if I should just soak it in acetone and remove it or wait for my real nail to heal underneath. It still hurts very bady even 6 hours after it happened, any ideas from all the nail experts out there???

Answers:

If the torn part of your nail is still attached to the other part and if it's not damaged you can let it in place, but you have to clean the wound very radically with some disinfectant solution. It can cause some pain, but it's very important. After this you have to make a bandage or use a plaster depending upon the size of the wound.
If you don't want to do this yourself you have to go to see your doctor.
