I think ive clicked my knee cap out of place?

yesterday i was dancing in the kitchen.. and i balanced on one leg and my knee cap went in on the leg i was balancing on and i lost control and fell over and its really hurt. its still does now. But my boyfriend said.. "you'd really know about it if you had broken it" but im stuggerling to walk on it and bend it. And it looks quite swolen. And i have work tomorrow and the pain when i walk on it and bend it .. is really bad. Do you think theirs any point in gettin it checked out? Because they might just give me a pain relief tablet and a bandage and thats it.

you definitely need to go to the emergency room and have this checked out Immediately. You may have a dislocated kneecap based on your description. Do not wait.
