Ankle Swelling. Please help!?!

Question:

Ankle Swelling. Please help!?

Please help, I have gotten severely swollen in the past week in the ankles. I am 33 weeks along, and it has gotten so bad it is difficult to walk. This is my first pregnancy. My blood pressure is still normal, so it's not preeclamsia. Is this normal?

Answers:

Ok i have many options for you to choose:

1) Are you standing Up all the time? On work or in home (: laundry, dishes..etc) you have to try to have small breaks. Every 8-10 minutes sit down for a while and then continue again. And then sit again and then stand up again.
This helps a lot! (even you don't feel tired you still HAVE to make breaks because you don't understand it but your body feels it. Don't wait to see your legs swollen to understand you were standing up much time!)

2) Sitting all the time? TV, computer and your legs on the floor??? No. Try to put your legs up (=on a chair or something) when your sitting. Never leave them on the floor while sitting. Even in bed try putting them somewhere higher. This again helps blood circulation. But DO NOT sit all the time(!) This is worse than standing up! Walk! Every day make a walk for a half or even (1) hour if you can! Not running! Just walking. And if you get tired with walking try yoga! But don't miss a day without doing any excersise! It's bad for the baby too.

3) Cold water or put ice pads. When you see your legs swollen go to the bath quickly & "wash" your legs with coooold water a few seconds. You will fell soooooooo much better. Then sit down. And after a minute they're going to be back in normal size. You can do this all the time if it relaxes you. It's not bad for health.

4) My mom ate a salty food 1,5 weeks before she was supposed to gave birth to me. 3 dAYs later i was born (!) [thank god i was already in 9th month]
Salt does swell all your body when your in 8 or 9th month.

I suggest you to eat healthy & unhealthy but in order. Don't eat all day unhealthy things and then next day too diet things. Try to combine them. Excersise regulary (not like you're in gym! LOL) Just to move, for health. Think you're doing a hobby. Go walking like shopping. Drink water A LOT(=go to bathroom a lot*). Sleep normal. Don't take any pills, take only vitamines if you need. Act as you're not pregnant to all the other things.
Go out, have fun, movies etc (only don't smoke at all & drink-only 1 small glass of wine/beer rarely when you really want it-)

*water, toilet and again water toilet helps the body put out of your body all the toxins & in that way the baby is growing in healthier environment.

Everything is going to be fine and you're going to have a b-e-a-utyful baby! Just don't get stressed with little things like this. Don't see things sensitively only like mathematics. This like this and that like that. Everytime you see your legs swollen cold water & rest. Everytime you have another problem you'll find another solution and it goes like that.. Everything is normal!

I wish you Good luck!!!
