What is wrong with my thumb?!?!? Please help I'm in pain and very scared!!!!

Question: What is wrong with my thumb?!?!? Please help I'm in pain and very scared!!!!!!!!?
Almost 9 weeks ago I broke the sesamoid bone in my thumb right in half. I broke it on January 18th. I didn't see a doctor until a week later. When I saw my pediatric doctor he took x-rays and said that is was broken. He just sent me home with no splint, brace, or cast! I saw an orthopedic doctor a few days later and got a splint. On February 3rd I got a cast. On February 28th I got my cast off. I had x-rays again that told me it still wasn't healed. I didn't get another cast or anything! They put me in therapy. I went to 4 sessions of therapy then stopped going because I was in so much pain I was crying! I had x-rays again on March 7th and it was still broken. I didn't get anything on it. Well my thumb has been hurting very badly the past few weeks. Here are my symptoms.

Swelling of hand and fingers

Little bruising

Non-stop throbbing of thumb and index finger

Pain on scale 1-10 is about a 6-7 right now. At times it's so bad I can't sleep

Tingling in index finger and thumb

Aching in arm, thumb, and all fingers

Unable to move thumb and index finger

Coldness in thumb

Shooting pain right where I broke my thumb at

I have an appointment on April 4th to see if it's healed. I'm 13 years old and can't get to the doctor any earlier. I've been icing my hand whenever I get to it and I've been taking painkillers but they don't do a thing.

Could my thumb still be broken?

What will the doctors do for it?

I know I already asked this question but I would like more answers! So not rude answers please! Also if you have already answered this question before please dont answer. Thanks!

Answers:

Sometimes doctors can be dumb. Make it *very* clear how much pain your in. Tell them you absolutely need answers. I know that can be hard when your 13 but do your best. If your doctor isn't helping you I would go looking for another. There are plenty of good docs out there but there are also some real turds as well. Good luck!

if your in a lot of pain consider going to the hospital..they will look at the xrays very carefully
