There are a number of ways to do this.

First, good sleep hygiene. Go to bed at the same time, do the same things every night before bed (brush teeth, etc.).Don't eat a large meal 1 hour before bed, don't exercise 3 hours before bed. Do nothing in bedroom but sleep and sex.

Get some ear plugs and one of those sleep masks.

Melatonin is a good little supplement you can get at health stores for short term insomnia or jet lag. Take it an hour before bed.

Keep a sleep log for a week or two. Just write down each day when you went to bed, when you actually fell asleep and when you woke up throughout the night and when you actually got up. Then look for patterns and try to figure out what you did different on days that were better or worse than average.

You can also go to a doctor to rule out physical problems and mental distress.
