Why do people get cramps when there running?!

Why do people get cramps when there running?

im just curious

Lack of oxygen!!
I'm 100% sure on this one been running since 8 and I'm now 26.
Basically when you run your digestive system is working like MAD trying to convert food to energy fast enough. Since oxygen is needed for this, not having enough means stomach acid leaks...and you feel a burning where your stomach is.

This also often spreads to the rest of your body when blood can't be pumped well enough (due to oxygen's being sucked up by your digestive system).

People mistake this for things like not having strong enough abs or heart (I did at first)...but the way to keep cramps down is to take long/deep breaths rather than short/quick ones (this might require a bit of slowing down if you haven't trained your lungs for deep breathing).
