I had this in 2002; I tried everything ---- medications, steroid injections in to the cervical region of my spine, and nothing helped except surgery. I had a C4-C5 diskectomy; the surgery was a SNAP! I had NO post-operative pain.
See a good neurologist and get a proper diagnoses that can be done with an MRI. There are other conditions that can cause numbness. See the doctor ASAP the longer you wait, the higher the risk of permanent nerve damage.
Today, I still have a little numbness, but I am 99.9% well with no problems or pain. Good Luck To You!
