Any reason why I might get kidney stones at the same time every year?!

Question: Any reason why I might get kidney stones at the same time every year?
For the past four years, I've gotten a kidney stone at the end of March or the beginning of April. I have no idea why this might be -- there's nothing that changes seasonally about my diet and my calcium levels don't seem to be changing from winter to spring. It doesn't seem to fit nicely into most descriptions of chronic kidney stone problems, which are seemingly irrespective of time of year. My GI doctor doesn't really have much of an idea it seems either, though they are running tests.

Anyone else struggle with this or know someone who does?

Answers:

I have been plagued with stones since 1971...yes 1971 and I'll bet your water consumption...WATER....decreases during the winter and picks back up again in the summer...during less water consumption periods your kidneys filter the same amount of minerals using less water thereby concentrating the minerals and creating a better environment for stones to form...lots of water flushes more efficiently.

I think that might be how long it takes for your kidney stones to develop and become troublesome. My friend seems to get a troublesome one about every two years.
