What does a "blown knee" mean?!
Question:
What does a "blown knee" mean?
I have heard people talk about this - especially when referring to football injuries. My son plays football and has injured his knee several times. I was just wondering what actually that meant? Thanks

I did it in a skiing accident - mine was a ripped-out ligament (ACL) and a bunch of torn cartilege. I had to have reconstructive surgery to replace the ligament with a cadaver ligament and arthrocscopic surgery to repair the cartilege - lots of time and rehab - ouch! ;O)
I think a "blown knee" is any serious injury to the knee that requires more than just time to heal - unlike a sprain or something minor like that.
