its completely up to you...dont let people tell you that it will leave a hole because if you decide to take it out the hole will close in a day or two. the first day though it will probably swell up pretty big so be sure to keep some ice handy to control the swelling...and be sure that the ring it tight when you get ready to eat(my brother in law accidently swallowed his once)
