Passing out?!

Question:

Passing out?

Ok, so growing up, i pass out whenever i would seriously injure myself. And i have very low blood tolerence, i usually pass out when i see it. My mother, and grandmother (on my moms side) are the exact same way. But lately when ever i just bang a body part hard i passout. Ive been very quiet about this and havent told anyone. Today i passed out 2 times, once banging my leg on the stairs, and then again when i smashed my thumb between 2 rocks. (i did tell my mom today tho, because she was 1)with me and 2) i couldn't deal with it today) Even if it runs in the family, do u think i should see a docter abou it? Its getting really annoying (expessially in school) If not, what should i do (and ill tell my mom about it when it happens) but theres nothing u can really do besides put ur head between ur legs, and rest with a cold compress.. thanks <3

Answers:

I was just diagnosed with POTS...postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome...low blood pressure. PLEASE inform your mother -------------immeditialy------... because anytime you pass out you need to be evaluated by a physician...eventhough you MAY have what your mother/grandmother have. I don't know how old you are but driving is a no no with a condition like this and be careful showering as well. hope this helps...
