Would Lidocaine show on a drug test?!

Question: Would Lidocaine show on a drug test?
Hello!

I suffer from a disc herniation that is extremely painful. I do not have health insurance.

A close family member of mine has awful back problems as well-- and does have health insurance-- and has multiple treatments for pain at home.

I avoid the narcotics because I understand that there is a stigma placed on them-- and tolerance builds fairly quickly-

But he offered me celebrex to treat my horendous inflamation-- and lidocaine patches to maybe numb the pain on site.

Would these medications show on a test? Would they work?

Please no judgment

Answers:

Celebrex is an anti inflammatory and not a narcotic. It is awesome once your body gets it in your system.

Lidocaine is an anithestic (freezing) and not a narcotic.

Neither are tested for as they are not narcotics.

I have to say it. You know better than to share medicines! But yes the celebrex and lidocaine patches do help. There is a risk of stomach irritation and bleeding from the celebrex as well as other risks. You can research this on line for more info. The patches do a good job of numbing the skin and inner areas of the skin to relieve pain. If you are not allergic they should not cause any problems. And no, they won't show on a drug screen.
