What OTC medicines are there for nausea?

I don't really know if there is a general-purpose OTC (Over-The-Counter) medicine for nauseousness.

A lot of people are saying pepto bismol. To be honest, I've never used it (although it's in my house) and whenever people are sick, I see then take it but it never seems to help them.

I am hearing a lot about ginger, I happen to have ginger Altoids at my house; do you think that would be an effective alternative?

Answers:

I use ginger, either powdered ginger in tea or in hot water, with honey or not, or lemon.
If someone is really sick and can't keep anything down, one drop, just one, of ginger essential oil on the skin, maybe in a bit of olive oil, will give some relief. If it doesn't work after an hour, try another drop. Just don't over-do it, especially with children.
Essential oils are very strong medicine!
