What to do about this shoulder, med professionals and shoulder pain people.?!

Question: What to do about this shoulder, med professionals and shoulder pain people.?
I got in what I thought was not a serious accident on my long board and long story short injured my shoulder, long board crash, by having my arm outstretched in front of me and my body rolled over,(think of my hand at 3 o'clock and my body did a full rotation around the clock without my arm moving from the 3 o'clock position).

This happened two years ago about. I am going to the sports medicine guy today in like two hours. I've been trying recently to heal my shoulder through stretching and using an elastic resistance band because my arm is sincerely weak in certain positions, but not others, I can do pull ups But not overhand pull-ups with hands outstretched.

My pains come from the rear part of my shoulder near the back of the deltoids i think or beneath it and in the top front of the shoulder. I feel an intense amount of pain when i take my hand like i'm going to make a right hand turn on a motorcycle left arm up and at a 90 degree angle i cant go very far back without experiencing an intense amount of pain.

If I push it too far it feels like something is tearing my arm off of my body. Please take that last line seriously as it is in no way an exaggeration.

Thank you for anyone who gives this any time.

You are going to a sports medicine "guy" in a few hours. Is he a Medical Dr. or a trainer. There is a very important difference. An MD can order x-ray,MRIs,surgery, physical therapy all of which will be useful in a rotator cuff injury. A trainer might try to get you to do exercises that may actually end up hurting your shoulder more.

If it is rotator cuff (there are 4 tendons that make up the rotator cuff any of which can be torn or partially torn) causing the pain. Unfortunately the longer out from the injury the harder it is to repair surgically. An orthopedic surgeon is the best to treat this if it is a tear that requires surgery.

I would be interested in what the sports guy has to say since I am in the torn rotator cuff club and need another surgery (3rd). I'd like to look back at your question and see what he has to say! Thanks
